Reception
This year in reception we are going to continue the journey we began in Nursery to develop in all 7 areas of learning and continue to promote the fundamental skills and knowledge we need to be ready for Year 1. We will be developing our mathematics and literacy skills thorough maths mastery and Unlocking Letters and Sounds phonics.
The teaching, learning and provision in our reception class supports the principles of the EYFS Framework, provides high quality provision for our children and celebrates both kindness and our school values. The Reception children have many opportunities to play and grow but time is also reserved for quiet, focused tasks to scaffold each child's next steps. We believe in a curriculum that accounts for children's spiritual and emotional wellbeing, encouraging a love and appreciation of the outdoors and establishing an environment that is welcoming and inclusive.

Early Learning Goals
